In the air

Well, technically, I am at the Bangkok airport, shortly to be in the air heading to Tokyo, then Minneapolis, then Washington, D.C. for 10 days before making the 2-day journey back to Bhutan again.

As I flew out of Bhutan this morning, I felt my throat closing, my chest tight. I can't imagine what it will feel like to leave for good in five more months. I love every day, my students, the view of the snow-capped mountains from our home, the way nothing ever happens the way I think it will.
I'm even starting to be okay with the huge spiders that live in my internship office. And of course I feel in love with this little girl the minute I saw a white poof-ball streak past our office door. Matt and I watched her for a few days for my coworker who went to India for training.
I will let you know how D.C. goes!
