Before I take off for Haa Valley (3 hours drive) tomorrow for a weekend festival, here are a photos from recent weeks.
Birds in the woods that surround our place:
You'll often find roosters in the dzongs. The story is that someone can pay to have them saved from being eaten, and their refuge is the local dzong.
Mushrooms in the forest above where we live. I have an awesome poisonous mushrooms calendar at my volunteer site.
There are butterflies and moths all over since the monsoon started. One of the many reasons I love living within an enormous, healthy forest.
